Tue 16th Sep 2025

You might think that decisions about global health are made far away in a conference room you’ll never see. But the truth is, your perspective as a young person in Cameroon is not just important—it's essential.

Have you ever wondered what the Global Fund is and how it impacts your community? This article is your guide to understanding its role and how you can get involved.

What is the Global Fund?

The Global Fund is a partnership created to help end the epidemics of AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. It raises and invests nearly $4 billion a year to support health programs in over 100 countries, including Cameroon.

The Power of Your Voice through the CCM

The Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) is the official group that decides how Global Fund money is spent in a country. It includes representatives from the government, community groups, and other organizations—but young people are often underrepresented. By speaking up, you can help shape health policies that directly affect you and your peers. Your experiences are valuable and can lead to more effective programs.
